About Me.

I am a curious, self driven designer with a passion for emerging technologies, advocating design thinking across all fields of work, facilitating design education, bridging diverse communities, and being a role model for underserved teens with an interest in design.

Teaching is our biggest asset in driving change. My passion for helping others comes from the guidance my mentors and design community have given me. Touched by their encouragement and willingness to teach me, I strive to do the same through my volunteer efforts.

They Called Us Enemy

George Takei's Graphic Memoir

A Herculean effort was taken on in fully designing and lettering They Called Us Enemy in time for its ambitious release schedule. I began lettering and designing the book while the art was still being drawn and the script edits being finalized because the timeline was shortened for marketing purposes. So much so that I had to assist Harmony with filling in some of her background textures with Clip Studio Paint as she addressed larger fixes.

The efforts of the creative team in developing such a captivating and monumentally important book have paid off through its continued success. Working on They Called Us Enemy, with its historic importance and equally talented team of George Takei, Justin Eisinger, Steven Scott, Harmony Becker, Leigh Walton, and Chris Staros, will go on to be one of the enduring accomplishments of my career. The energy, care, and passion put into the book is evident in the final product and is worth all the late nights spent in hitting deadlines. I felt like nobody slept during that book, as I would send emails at all hours and get a response almost immediately. It truly felt like we were in it together and everyone fully understood the significance of what we were undertaking.
